為配合本校英文課程規劃，自114學年度起，【語文通識－大學英文】分班及選課方式有重大調整，請新生務必詳細閱讀以下說明，以免影響個人修課與畢業進度。
According to the English curriculum planning of NTPU, there will be significant adjustments to the method for course placement and course selection of the General Education－College English starting from the 2025/26 academic year. All freshmen must read the following instructions carefully to avoid affecting course enrollment and graduation progress.

✅ 一、修課對象與學分規定

除已達本校英文課程【抵免】或【免修】標準者外，所有114學年度入學之新生皆須修習「語文通識－大學英文」課程，共計4學分。

I. Eligibility and Credits Regulations

Except for students who meet NTPU’s requirements for credit transfer or exemption from College English courses, all freshmen admitted to NTPU in the 2025/26 academic year must take the “General Education－College English,” totaling 4 credits.

✅ 二、分班方式

• 依學生「學測英文成績」或「英語檢定成績」進行分班。
• 無學測英文成績且未繳交英檢成績者，須參加由語言中心舉辦之【英文分班測驗】，測驗時間與方式請詳閱第六點。

II. Method for Course Placement

• Course placement will be based on students’ General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) English score or English Proficiency Test score.
• Students who do not have a GSAT English score and have not submitted English Proficiency Test scores must take the “English Placement Test” held by the Language Center. For more details regarding the test schedule and format, please see Point 6.

✅ 三、課程安排

■ A. 英文能力達B1級（含）以上者，必須選修2門1學期語言中心開設之「主題式大學英文課程」

符合以下任一條件者：

• 學測英文成績達「均標」（含）以上
• 英檢成績達B1（含）以上
• 分班測驗成績達B1（含）以上

必須選修2門1學期語言中心開設之「主題式大學英文課程」，相關說明如下：

1. 課程類型(學期課)（114-1學期開設課程）
   50. 大學英文：基礎商用英文(2學分)
   50. 大學英文：當代議題聽講訓練(2學分)
   50. 大學英文：英文閱讀及討論(2學分)
2. 修課規定
   50. 須於入學學年度上下學期，各修習一門不同主題式課程以符合畢業學分規定。
   50. 若重複修習相同課程，僅採計一門為畢業學分。
3. 選課時間
   50. 114-1學期：114年9月11日至9月17日（加退選期間）
   50. 114-2學期：依校方行事曆辦理
4. 上課時間(特別注意)
   50. 因學測成績無法即時完成分班，114-1學期第一週（9月8日與9月12日）不須實體上課。
   50. 請學生至以下網址，觀看各課程簡介並依興趣選課（網址另行公告）。
   50. 開始上課時間：114年9月15日或9月19日（依實際選課時間為準）

III. Course Arrangement

■ A. Students who have reached the CEFR B1 level or above in English proficiency are required to register for 2 one-semester “Thematic College English Courses” offered by the Language Center.

Students who meet one of the following conditions must register for 2 one-semester ”Thematic College English Courses” offered by the Language Center：

• The GSAT English score has reached the “Mean Standards” or above.
• English Proficiency Test score has reached the CEFR B1 level or above.
• English Placement Test score has reached the CEFR B1 level or above.

The following are descriptions of the 2 one-semester “Thematic College English Courses” offered by the Language Center:

1. Topics of College English Course (Semester-based Courses Offered in the Fall 2025 Semester of the 2025/26 Academic Year)
   50. College English： An Introduction to Business English (2 credits)
   50. College English： An Introduction to Academic Listening and Speaking on Contemporary Topics (2 credits)
   50. College English： English Reading and Discussion (2 credits)

2. Regulations for Course Selection
   50. To meet the graduation credit requirements, students must register for one Thematic College English Course with a different topic in each semester of their first academic year.
   50. If students completed more than one Thematic College English course with the same course title, only one course will be counted toward the graduation credits.
3. Course Selection Period
   50. Fall 2025 semester: 2025/9/11~2025/9/17 (Course Add and Drop Period)
   50. Spring 2026 semester: According to the National Taipei University Academic Calendar 2025 Fall Semester.
4. Course Schedule (Please note)
   50. As the course placement results based on the GSAT English scores will not be available in time, there will be no in-person classes during the first week (9/8 & 9/12) of the Fall 2025 semester.
   50. Please visit the following website to browse the course syllabi and select courses that interest you. (The website will be announced in due course.)
   50. Course Start Date: 2025/9/15 or 2025/9/19 (Depending on the actual course time)

■ B. 英文能力未達B1者

符合以下任一條件者：

• 學測英文成績未達「均標」
• 英檢成績為A2（含）以下
• 分班測驗成績為A2（含）以下

1. 修課方式
   • 一律修習全學年制【大學英文】課程，由語言中心統一分班安排，學生無須自行選課。為避免分班後與其他課程衝堂，請務必另參閱第七點「各學系【大學英文】課程分班時段表」，排課時請留意不要衝堂。
2. 開始上課時間
   • 114年9月8日或9月12日（依實際分班時間為準）

B. Students who have not reached the CEFR B1 level in English proficiency

Students who meet one of the following conditions:

• The GSAT English score is below the “Mean Standards”
• English Proficiency Test score is at the CEFR A2 level or below
• English Placement Test score is at the CEFR A2 level or below.

1. Course Registration Method
   • Students who meet one of the conditions above are required to register for the full academic year “College English” course. As course placement will be arranged by the Language Center, students do not need to register for the courses themselves. Please consult point 7 of each department’s ”College English Course Placement Schedule” to prevent scheduling conflicts with other courses following class placement. When planning your other course, please make sure that there are no overlapping class times.
2. Course Start Date
   • 2025/9/8 or 2025/9/12 (Depending on the actual course time)

⚠️ 未參加英文分班測驗者

如應參加但未參加分班測驗者，將無法修習114學年度之「語文通識－大學英文」課程，請延至下一學年度重新參加分班測驗。

Students Who Do Not Take the English Placement Test

Students who fail to take the required English Placement Test will not be allowed to enroll in the “General Education－College English” courses for the 2025/26 academic year. Please retake the English Placement Test in the following academic year.

✅ 四、校外英檢成績申請抵免／免修

1. 線上申請：至114年8月28日止，請務必第一次登入學生資訊系統時上傳證明文件影像檔（請事先準備英檢成績檔案）。
2. 紙本申請：至114年9月4日前止，請攜帶證明文件至語言中心（人文大樓3樓308室）辦理。

IV. Application for Credit Transfer or Exemption Based on External English Proficiency Test Results

1. Online Application: The online application must be submitted by August 28, 2025. Students logging into the Student Information System for the first time must upload supporting documents in an image file format. (Please prepare the document containing your English proficiency test results in advance.)
2. Paper Application: The paper application must be submitted by September 4, 2025. Please bring the supporting documents to the Language Center. (College of Humanities 3F08)

✅ 五、重修／補修學生與轉學生選課說明

V. Course Selection Instruction for Retake Students and Transfer Students

Retake students and transfer students admitted to NTPU in the 114th academic year ( Student ID is 4113XXXXX or earlier) who are required to take the “General Education－College English” course must register for their preferred course time on the designated website. 本測驗為「大學英文」課程分班而設，並無抵免或免修用途，請同學知悉！

(A)114/09/03(三) 13:30-15:00、15:00-16:30及16:30-18:00共三場次

(B)114/09/09(二) 08:30-10:00、13:30-15:00及15:00-16:30共三場次
